my world

Working from nature whether landscapes, portraits or life drawing is by far my preferred way of painting. My passion is painting. Or better said, my passion is the struggle to capture, in paint,  the moment, the impression, the feeling that a subject engenders in me. Whilst others carry a camera, I carry a sketchbook. Nearly all of my mountain watercolours are painted ‘live’ in the mountains whilst the oils are studio paintings from my own reference photographs and sketches.
